Aluminum chock block holders with chains to secure chock blocks. Can be ordered as single or dual per body side. Protects the service body from nicks and scratches from repeated insertion and removal of chock blocks. Available for both the Aluminum Classic II and Steel Classic II.
Bright finish aluminum treadplate splash guards are installed on the front of body panels and on top of the tailgate to produce an appealing, modern look and protect against regular wear and tear from road travel and loading. Available on the Aluminum Classic II and the Steel Classic II.
Ensure that you’ll be able to see your stored equipment and tools at any time of day with compartment lighting, which is automatically activated with Latch-Matic® keyless remote controller. These lights are programmed to go off automatically after 10 minutes or when the doors are locked, which helps to maximize the bulb’s lifespan. The lights feature impact-resistant Lexan lenses.
The frame-mounted recessed bumper creates an additional degree of sturdiness when loading and unloading, and the pooched anti-slip surface helps increase the safety of the service body by adding more steady space to work on. The bumpers have LED lights included to maintain high levels of visibility.
Create a secure seal on your service body compartment doors without sacrificing convenience, all with the snap of a single handle and padlock. The master locking steel slide bar simultaneously locks an entire compartment side to keep your tools and other equipment safe. The bar, which works independently of the Latch-Matic remote system, is spring-loaded for easy operation.
Rugged steel construction helps to maintain a robust and durable grip on all of your pipes regardless of size, design or material. The rack holds pipe sections securely in place, allowing you to maximize the available space on your service body. Available on both the Aluminum Classic II and the Steel Classic II.

Nitrogen Gas Strut Door Holders
All vertical compartment doors are equipped with nitrogen gas strut door holders. Struts hold the doors in the open position and provide a smooth, controlled motion on close, to prevent overslam and body damage.
Stainless Steel Rotary Locks With Paddle Handles
Reading’s stainless steel locks and paddle handles have a clean, fastener-free appearance that’s both professional and functional. Locks and handles include a pry-resistant, automotive-style “free-wheeling” design with double-bitted keys. Handles are gasketed and include O-rings to prevent water intrusion. Locks are compatible with Reading’s optional Latch-Matic® remote locking system.
Pooched Bumper
Reading service and enclosed utility bodies are offered with a selection of ‘pooched’ bumpers that improve traction and give you sure-footed access to the cargo area. Bumpers are galvannealed steel for outstanding corrosion resistance, and available either straight, or with a center recess to provide easy access to a trailer hitch.
Hidden Hinges
Reading’s signature hidden hinges are designed to resist forcible entry, and provide the ultimate in clean, professional appearance. This robust and concealed hinge design provides protection against corrosion without requiring frequent lubrication or maintenance. They are fully adjustable and easy to replace without special tools.
Slam-Action Tailgate
The iconic Reading tailgate is easy to open and shut with a pickup-style latch and slam-action closure, and includes a Stainless Steel polished handle on Classic II. Tailgate is 14″ tall with a treadplate working surface, to provide sure-footed access to the loadspace. The latching hardware is stainless steel — knee braces, locking rods, hinge rods and striker channels. Knee braces are removable and protect against rust and corrosion while allowing the tailgate to swing down completely.
Seamless Wheelhouse Panel
When your truck kicks up dirt, mud, and salt, that buildup can cause damage and corrosion. Reading service and enclosed utility bodies are designed with with seamless wheelhouse panels to give dirt, moisture and corrosives fewer places to collect.
Undercoated Aluminum Understructure
Heavy-gauge aluminum crossmembers and longitudinal rails help to protect against long-term wear and corrosion while helping to keep the service body at a lower weight. Standard on aluminum service bodies and vans.

Made from heavy-gauge aluminum, the double-panel compartment doors on our aluminum service bodies are designed for strength and tested for reliability. Aluminum doors contribute to a lighter weight, fuel-efficient truck without giving up long-term durability.
